About
What was the Cold war?
The Cold War was the period of tension and conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union after World War II. The United States and the Soviet Union had political, military, and ideological differences that caused constant disagreement between them. It was a battle of Capitalism versus Communism, with both sides locked into a struggle for power and control. Although the two nations came to the brink of war, no fighting occurred, giving The "Cold" War its name. The Cold War and its main events dominated world politics until the late 1980s and still have their impacts felt today.
